E-Blog8: Intellectual Property

It was Thursday morning when we were tasked to make a personalized game on Intellectual Property. We were either to work individually or by pair to come up with the said game. We were given the freedom to choose what type of game we would like to make as long as the objective is that at the end of the game, the user learns something about Intellectual Property Rights. You’re familiar with Intellectual Property, right? How about copyrights, patents and trademarks? Now, you know exactly what I’m talking about because these three are under Intellectual Property.

As for our personalized game, we have decided to make via Kahoot! because it is easy, convenient and user-friendly. In addition, Kahoot! games or quizzes are actually fun and artistic. It’s not like the usual pen and paper quizzes that intimidate every student because it’s more of a game which is interactive and enjoyable.

Since we already picked Kahoot! as the platform for our game, now our next challenge is to think up of the questions needed for it. Google comes to play. There were some questions we had to search for in Google for further information about Intellectual Property and there were some that we just thought of ourselves. We always kept in mind to make an easy game because we thought that the users have little to no prior knowledge whatsoever about the topic so made it convenient for them so that they could still answer. And mind you that some answers there are kind of funny so it won’t be boring.

Anyways, that concludes our Intellectual Property game and I hope you can play that game too!

E-Blog 02: "Ang Probinsyano" vs PNP

We recently discussed the dispute between “Ang Probinsyano” and the Philippine National Police. We had to pick out our partners and we had to choose which side we’re on. Well, before picking any side, my partner and I had to first watch the video regarding the said dispute because we have no idea what is happening between them. That may be because we don’t watch the TV series, or the news nor do we care about such matters, frankly speaking. After knowing about it, that’s the only time we were able to pick sides. Individually, we gathered 3 important pieces of evidence that would support our claim. Later on, we discussed it with our partners then compiled our works into a single Powerpoint presentation.  Afterwards, the class was divided into two: those which sided with “Ang Probinsyano” and those with the PNP. We had to write in the board all the things that made our claim right and as well, writing those which would make the opposing side wrong. After such, our teacher, being on ...

“Design’s fundamental role is problem solver.”

Design Thinking: How Designers Solve Problems According to Emilie Johnston from CloudApp, Designers have a unique way of seeing the world and that perspective can add some major value to the business. But a traditional task-oriented design mindset won't get you there. Here are some of the ways great designers innovate their way to the top. Make problem-solving the priority The colors, the creativity, the endless possibilities for how to make a product better, easier, sexier. Hands down, the BEST thing about design, is that it's fun. Really fun. The problem with it being fun, is that you could literally spend hours obsessing over fonts, and never solve a single problem for your users. Great designers relish the details, but never lose sight of the bigger picture. They know that while tools and tricks may come and go, the big picture is always the same: Solving a problem for your user. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't matter which platform yo...
