E-Blog9: Effects of Social Media

Social media, like the internet and computer, is probably one of the greatest innovation of the century. Human beings are social beings which means that every wants to communicate or socialize with each other. That socialization now is even faster with only just a click of a button.

As an artist, it is important to know and understand the effects of social media because almost everything revolves around social media these days; may it be from new celebrity gossips, brand new fashion trends, go-to-destinations and so much more. In the list, you may also include the artworks that can be viewed in social media and lots more people can have a chance to see it, even those people from the other side of the globe. As everything is rapidly changing and evolving these days, so shall be the art that every artist makes. The artists must also develop or catch up their techniques, styles, themes, concepts to accommodate the modernity which we all face. Not everyone appreciates art, especially if it is strangely looking for them or it does not suit their views or culture or what have you. It is of great importance to know this to appeal to the audience immensely and to be sensitive of their views, opinions, thoughts and culture. One move, either great or bad, can create a buzz in the social media world. It could be viral for the best or unfortunately, for the worse.  As an artist, it is safe to always be aware, safe and to always innovate.
