In class, we were tasked to read out the people’s comments and reactions in regarding to the articles posted which were about the extension of Martial Law here in Mindanao. As can widely be seen, it has indeed become a norm for people especially in social media to insult people when they express their own thoughts and opinions. Most people who commented and reacted were from Luzon and were not affected by the implemented Martial Law. That being said, the people from Mindanao felt ridiculed because they are the ones being affected and not the people of Luzon.   One of the striking comments that I’ve read there is that the term Martial Law has a bad image because of what has happened in the past because of Marcos. While the Martial Law of Pres. Digong is far different than that but since it carries the term of Martial Law, people would automatically associate it with the Marcos’ Martial Law. Ola, Atenista! Did you know about the JHS Kids’ Fun Day? JHS Kids’ Fun Day was an event that was spearheadead by the Junior Highschool Students of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. It’s sole purpose was to reach out the small children. It was meant to teach these children a few more things and to give out an aid and most importantly, to allow them to enjoy   that day which they will surely cherish. Ateneo Fiesta isn’t only meant for us to have fun all by ourselves but it was truly meant to share that joy into other people. It was meant to touch their lives. It was momentous experience for both the Atenean students and the children they interacted with. It’s a beautiful memory for their Ateneo Fiesta. Hi there, fellow ka-tribo! A few days ago, I just happen to passed by the BC building when I witnessed an ongoing Public Speaking contest. At first, I wasn’t interested because I have no skill whatsoever with such but once I heard their topic and their speeches, I was beyond mesmerized with the thoughts and opinions of our fellow ka-tribo. It was indeed powerful because it served as a discovery of new knowledge. It’s insanely good to hear it out from them and to be able to witness such a wonder. It is often an event overlooked by many because of disinterest which I’m also guilty of, but it’s actually a great moment to witness and to learn at the same time.  I think we should support such events. I think we should attend and listen to the voices of our fellowmen. Come on now. Don’t slack off. Come on and learn with them, with us. #AteneoFiesta2018 #JuntoTriboAteneo
